In my last post, I commented about my little brain. It reminded me of a series of books I read in junior high. It started with The Great Brain by John Fitzgerald. The book is focused on the exploits of The Great Brain, Tom Fitzgerald, and his Catholic family living in the heart of Mormon country.
A very fun book for a 10 year old boy. Try it out. Better yet, read it to your son or grandson.

Recently I posted about Mike Huckabee becoming Catholic. Now, this was done tongue-in-cheek. But, he does tend to follow Catholic doctrine. That said, many religious do. And, his religion is not really important to me. His beliefs are. That post brought me a lot of traffic, thanks to Kevin Tracy for throwing me a bone.
The long awaited release of Mike Huckabee’s new website put a new thought in my little brain. Mike Huckabee may be the right candidate to transform the republican party as the RNC chairman for the 2010 elections. He has the passion and message people want to hear. He will learn how to fund raise. And he will infuse the party with a high level of personal ethics.
At the same time, leading the Republican party to a successful mid-term election will go a long way to building support for the 2012 nomination if McCain loses to Obama.

You all know that I like Wattsupwiththat. He’s a clear thinker. And, he has a protege. A youthful, clear thinker.
I have written many times about the hysteria of global warming. When studying data, you must recognize that everyone’s ability to collect data is not equal.
Temperature measurement in chemical industries is particularly difficult. You have to make many decisions. Sometimes the most difficult to answer is what level of accuracy do you need? If you are separating two components with very different boiling points, accuracy is not that important. If you are measuring a reaction temperature that is critical to quality, accuracy is very important.
Take a look at how the GLOBAL WARMING data is being collected. If you think this data is credible, then you need to spend a little more time on Kristen Byrnes’ website or at wattsupwiththat

I couldn’t decide the title of this post. So, I put both.
What is it about Bill Maher that is so entertaining? His latest hate speech involves the Pope.
Why does someone like this deserve his own show? Why does he continue to get attention?
When Mike Huckabee asked the question, “Don’t Mormons believe that Jesus and the devil are brothers?” he was scorned by the media and lost some of his momentum. At the time, I thought the question showed a momentary lack of judgement on Huckabee’s part. But, I didn’t think (and still don’t) that is was a slur of any sort on Mormonism. The media spun it into one and in my opinion helped unravel Huckabee’s campaign.
Yet, Maher gets a pass on his comments. Nazi Pope, organized pedaphilia. What could he say that is more discriminatory? He’s disgraceful and should not be on TV, radio, or in print.
I hope none of you support him.

I got it from Opinionated Catholic. If you drop in on him, you’ll see where he got it. You shouldn’t be frightened by Mike the Tiger - unless you are from Ohio State.
To the point, open this link and read the letter. You’ll get another view, an unreported view of American Soldiers, of their commitment to freedom, of fairness, of selfless service.
Whether they voted for George Bush or John Kerry, whether they will vote for John McCain or Barack Obama, we are defended by professional soldiers, a volunteer military, that is second to no other. And we should all be grateful.
