Antonin Scalia, George Bush, and the Constitution

“The principal function of the courts is not to do what the majority wants, but what the Constitution prescribes.”

In my mind, this is possibly the single most important issue in electing presidents. Apart from his recent short comings (border security/amnesty), George W. Bush has made has made us safer by taking the fight to the islamic terrorists.

But what makes his presidency a success is his appointments to the US Supreme Court. Two jurist that will do “what the Constitution prescribes.”
