The New Voice – Mike Huckabee – And 3 things.

I first read about Mike Huckabee in 2006.  I knew I wouldn’t be interested in John McCain.  The little I heard about the governor of Massachusetts, I wasn’t interested.  America’s Mayor, well, he is an American Hero.  Like GWB, Giuliani’s response to 9/11 was stellar.  But, his beliefs on Life issues doesn’t represent me.

Mike Huckabee does.  He has never wavered in his position.

This wasn’t the first article I read about him.  But, it has some interesting tid-bits.

On John McCain: “I have a hard time seeing him being elected president, just because I think, at times, some of his views have alienated very important segments of the Republican Party,” Huckabee says. “I’m not sure he can mend the fences with the evangelical wing of the party, the pro-life part of the party.”

The Club For Growth: “The Club for Growth, for some reason, is all on my back, and I think, in part, because I had the audacity to challenge some of them — they don’t like that,” Huckabee says. “They like for you to just sort of bow and kiss their ring. And, you know, I’m not going to do that. I don’t care who they are.”

The Republican Party Losses in 2006: “Will it be a wake-up call to our party, that we’re going to have to retool the message — not the principles — but the message?” Huckabee muses in an interview with The Examiner. “And will the party start looking for new voices, the ones that aren’t so already established?

NOW is our chance to elect the New Voice, one that doesn’t budge of Life, recognizes the hardships in middle America, brings back passion.

I’m still not sure if I should vote for Mike or not. Despite his dedicated support I have a found a lot of ‘dirt’ on him and nobody seems to bother trying to debunk any of these notions. For example, ‘the wedding gift incident’. The destruction of 80+ computers before he left office. His son having brutally killed a dog while at boyscout camp. I really like Mike, but until I can find some sources that will lay these claims to rest I’m going to have to go with Mitt.

I must have hit a nerve.

I am from the south, where as Mike likes to say, “If you can’t stand the site of your own blood, just buy a ticket and watch.”

I am not an Evangelical Christian. I am a Catholic. In the south, this is not a natural political alliance. But, I am Pro-Life, Anti-Tax, Pro-American.

Before you buy into the rhetoric, do a little research yourself.

    1. Mike has never wavered on the Right-to-Life issue.
    2. Mike is for the FairTax, making GWB’s tax cuts permananent, and balanced the budget – to the point of ONE BILLION DOLLARS in the bank. That’s a lot of money in Arkansas.
    3. Mike has the endorsement of most state Right-to-Life organizations, the endorsement of the founder of the MinuteMen border enforcement agency, and Me.
    4. You probably don’t care about the last one. But, Mike Huckabee does. He is focused on Americans. He wants to encourage growth in America by investing in infrastructure, this keeps Americans working and makes it more appealing for businesses to invest.

Listen up Evangelicals, ONLY a vote for MITT ROMNEY in Republican primaries is a vote AGAINST MCCAIN, a loser that is being aggressively imposed on us by the establishment and the “mainstream” media. By casting your vote on ANY OTHER candidate you will be helping MCCAIN to win the Republican nomination.

  5. fortyfour says:

    JonS,
I’m not an Evangelical. That said, I vote my conscience. And Mitt Romney is not the conservative candidate. Mike Huckabee is – Taxes went up in Arkansas by 0.2% in 12 years while Huckabee was in charge. Taxes in Mass went up 4% (from 30.4 to 34.4).

Second, Mike Huckabee has never wavered on life issues. For that matter, neither has John McCain.

So How Bout you come with some facts. WingHunter got scared off when I opened the debate. So, instead of using Mitt’s tactics of tearing down opponents, tell me what he has done to earn my vote. Mitt is the candidate that should back out.
