Bill Clinton Reduced Abortion?

It’s not as pathetic as Michael Jackson’s spiral, but, Bill Clinton is putting on a good show. He claims that he has done more than anyone to reduce abortion. Even, got into an argument about it. Good for him – stand up for what you believe.

But, let’s set the record straight. First, the National Health Care that Bill proposed would have nationalized abortion funding. Second, Bill ran for President under the slogan, “Safe, Legal, and Rare.” Someone once asked if it is safe and legal, why should it be rare? I’m sure Bill has an answer. Third, from Clinton’s own book, “I thought then [in the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision] and still believe that the Court reached the right conclusion.”

Here’s the problem with Bill’s record. From Exodus . . .

“If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman’s husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life,”

Punished for causing a miscarriage. Surely, God felt that life began in the womb.

Bill is a master at turning an argument. He will force the most absurd position on his opponent and make observers believe it is the position of the opponent. It is our job to remind each other of the real positions our ‘leaders’ hold.

Don’t let Bill or Hillary or Barack dilute their real positions on abortion. More important than borders . . . More important than taxes . . . More important than radical Islamic terrorism . . . this presidential election is about Supreme Court nominations. And we will have to unite to ensure the strongest possible candidate is elected to protect the lives of the innocents.

That’s why I stand with Mike Huckabee.

Not to discount your opinion, but every study on abortion rates and their correlation to the legality and accessibility of abortion indicate that in countries where abortion is both legal and highly accessible, the abortion rates fall. Even the latest Guttmacher report on each state’s abortion rate show that in the U.S. states that have most abortion providers per capita, the abortion rates in those states are the lowest. So “safe, legal, and rare” isn’t a crazy thing to say.

“Safe, legal, and rare” also refers to the idea that you make comprehensive sex ed the norm, make reproductive care and birth control easily accessible and affordable for all in order to help women not get pregnant until they want to be pregnant…which automatically would mean fewer abortions.

Safe, Legal, and Rare does not infer that you make comprehensive sex ed. That may be an additional program proposed by Clinton. Safe and Legal suggest that abortions are performed in clinics and allowed by law. Rare was put in to throw us off – to allow us to believe that Clinton is against abortion. When in fact, he has always been for abortion.

My post does divulge my opinion on abortion. In fact, it’s no secret. But, the point of my post is that Clinton, Clinton, and Obama all want to hide the fact that they are pro-abortion. And, in Obama’s case, support late term abortion and have opposed laws that protect babies that are still alive after a botched abortion. Alive – outside of the womb and breathing.

    Thats my point.
